"Abandoned Embrace"

Artist Statement:
This sculpture represents the overarching sense of disconnect between different groups in today's American society. We live in a country full of people from different backgrounds, but unfortunately we don't always embrace and share in these differences. I would like this piece to evoke and inspire a sense of unity amongst diversity.
The general shape of the sculpture was conceived from the idea of "open arms." From there, I manipulated the forms to create an eye-catching piece composed of two separate, yet united pieces with curving planes and intersecting spaces.
