Artist Statement:
After Hide is an adventure into abstraction, the figure and Cubism. This sculpture explores the language of dimensionality at the intersection of sculpture, dance, architecture and history, asking questions of our sense of form and space, presence and void, movement and stillness. How do those factors surround the figure and how do we relate to our environment natural and built. My work draws inspiration from American and British Sculptors David Smith, Sir Anthony Caro, Peter Hide, Richard Hunt, Mark di Suvero, and Alexander Calder.
