Established in 2011, each year the Arts R Alive Sculpture Committee proudly showcases works from local, regional, and Midwestern artists at West Twin Park in Webster City, Iowa. The mission of the Arts R Alive Sculpture Committee is to promote sculpture as a public art form and to enrich the artistic and cultural interests of our city, region and state. - Clearly labeled images or drawings of the work from multiple angles.
- A resume with three professional references.
- A short bio (100-200 words)

Selection Process
- A judge or jury with artist background and education who lives in Iowa will review the pieces and make remarks.
- The sculpture must be original, suitable for outdoor display in adverse weather conditions (high winds, rain, heat, snow and freezing temperatures): soundly and professionally constructed of durable and safe components, and require no maintenance during the display period.
- The sculpture will be located in a high traffic area and must be appropriate for viewing by an unsupervised audience of residents and visitors of all ages. Works must have a strong durable base or mounting plate that can be bolted to a 30” X 30”’concrete base.
Project Guidelines
- Artists are responsible for all costs, equipment and labor necessary for the delivery and removal of the work and assume all risk and damage to the work before and during installation and during and after removal.
- The Arts R Alive Sculpture Committee may provide installation and removal assistance of works on a limited basis with prior arrangement. Please call 515-832-4547 to schedule an appointment for delivery and placement of the work.
- Work not appropriate for installation onto the concrete base will be addressed on a case by-case basis with the artist and subject to Committee approval. The Arts R Alive Sculpture Committee will promote the exhibit, including events, media releases, brochures, and calendar listings.
- If the Artist’s piece is sold while it is on display 15% of the money received from the buyer will be deposited in the Arts R Alive Sculpture Committee fund to assist in the development of an ongoing fund to give stipends to future winners.
- If an individual or business is interested in purchasing a sculpture from the exhibit please contact Janet Adams at 515-832-4547. Work will be available for purchase at the conclusion of the contract.
Project Timeline
June 14th, 2020
- Deadline for submissions.
July 15th - July 31st, 2020
- Selection notification to all artists.
- Sculptures mounted on bases at their designated locations at West Twin Park.
August 6th, 2020
- Artist Talk Reception at West Twin Park.
- Artists and jury will speak.
- Community invited to attend.
