Artist Statement:
I chose to title my sculpture In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida after the 1968 hit song by Iron Butterfly, because it showcases a carefree era of being wild and free spirited. Featuring iron butterflies sharing a playful moment with [heavy metal] daisies, this eclectic work of art is inspired by a colorful lifestyle that once was and may never be again. It’s perfect for viewers from all walks of life to enjoy and interact with, as they may spring the butterflies back and forth on their rods to create a sense of flight.
