Artist Statement:
This sculpture was constructed using dimensions and proportions based on “The Golden Ratio” so they could be formed to the contour of the face. Sure enough it worked!
The golden ratio is also called the golden mean, divine proportion, divine selection, golden proportion, golden cut, and golden number. The golden rectangle, in which the ratio of the longer side to the shorter is the golden ratio. It is widely believed that this proportion is the most ascetically pleasing to mankind.
