Artist Statement:
The world of art needn’t always be complicated. Simplicity is about stripping your art clean of chaos and ornamentation and exposing your talent in the simplest way possible. The challenge is to recognize when a piece has reached its fullest expression without the addition of subtraction or any other element.
The color I chose is predicted to be conspicuous in the shade of summer and a distinctive contrast in the overcast gray of winter. The bench was designed to conceal the form of the reclaimed 1100 gallon anhydrous ammonia tank, but allow the viewer to figure it out. The glossy silhouettes express the simplicity and smoothness of the curves. Positioning was done to allow the view of other sculpture pieces in the afternoon shade
