Artist Statement:
I started to think about the paths people take in life and how quickly life can change. Whether you are a student, a parent, or a person working at a dead end job, we all go through life trying to climb this metaphorical set of stairs to get to the top. No matter how minuscule it may be, many people feel they have made the wrong decisions somewhere in their life.
This sculpture is a reminder to everyone who feels stuck in life that everything happens for a reason. Remembering that everything a person does shapes who they are. It doesn't matter what a person is going through or what they have already done, every situation becomes part of their identity.
