Artist Statement:
My work is in a constant state of evolution as I believe that I must continually be pushing my own concepts about art. In creating public works of art, I am inspired by the environment where the artwork will eventually find its home. Our environment both natural and constructed, embeds many images in our collective memories. These metaphoric triggers create an implicit and explicit narrative that enables the viewer to understand, discuss, and remember ideas, emotions, and events that reach across human communities. My work plays with these juxtapositions of elements referring to the natural world, and those referring to the world of man-made culturally specific things. The shape of this association is bound to reflect the ambiguities and confusions of mankind’s position between being natural and non-natural at once.
